About the Festival

Curated by filmmakers, for film lovers —
one screen, 303 seats, infinite worlds.

World Film Special is a curated screening event hosted by the Eurasia International Film Festival (一般社団法人ユーラシア国際映画祭), bringing together outstanding works of world cinema to Los Angeles.

What makes this event unique is its curation: every film is personally selected by working filmmakers and veteran festival programmers who live and breathe cinema. As a filmmaker herself, Representative Director Rena Masuyama has chosen works that reflect her vision of authentic world cinema. Joining her, Georges N. Chamchoum — longtime Executive & Program Director of the Asian World Film Festival — brings his decades of expertise in discovering Asian talent for global audiences.

Taking place at the historic Landmark Nuart Theatre — a flagship arthouse venue since 1929 — in collaboration with the Asian World Film Festival, Japan Film Festival Los Angeles, and FFIFA, this evening celebrates the power of cinema to transcend borders.
